YOUNG ADULTS IN MEMPHIS

FIND YOUR PEOPLE

A church where young adults new to Memphis build real friendships within weeks, not months.

Moving to a new city in your twenties is exciting until Sunday comes around and you realize you don’t know a single person. Memphis attracts young professionals, college students, and recent graduates from all over the country, and one of the first things many of them start searching for is a church where they can build community quickly. The Life Church in Memphis is built for exactly that, with multiple entry points designed to help young adults go from knowing nobody to having genuine friendships in a matter of weeks.

The First Sunday: What It Actually Feels Like

Your first Sunday at The Life Church in Memphis will not feel like walking into a room where everyone already knows each other and you are the outsider. The Guest Experience team greets everyone, the room is big enough that you can be anonymous if you want to be, and the energy is warm. The New Here and Next Steps areas give you a natural reason to talk to someone and ask questions. Many young adults at The Life Church say their first Sunday felt surprisingly comfortable even though they came alone.

Where Real Friendships Form

Sunday mornings are the front door. But the friendships that actually stick form in two places: Life Groups and serve teams. Life Groups meet throughout the week and come in different formats, so you can pick one that works for you. Some are study-focused. Some are built around food. Some center on an activity. The common thread is that you are seeing the same small group of people consistently, which is how trust builds. Serve teams work the same way. When you serve on Sundays, you are part of a team that meets before or after service, often grabs food together, and holds each other accountable. Acquaintances become real friends fast.

“ My husband and I just recently moved from Kansas City to Memphis. We didn't think we would find a church similar to the one back home. BUT we definitely did! ”

— Hailee D.

College Night: Built for 18 to 25

If you are between 18 and 25, College Night at the Highland location happens monthly and is designed specifically for your age range. It is worship, a message geared toward what you are navigating, and plenty of space to meet people afterward. You don’t have to be attending college. For many young adults who relocate to Memphis, College Night is an easy way to find real community.

You Will Not Be Stuck in the Back Row

One of the things young adults notice quickly at The Life Church is that people their age are not just in the audience. They are running cameras, leading worship, heading up Life Groups, greeting at the door, and shaping the creative direction of the church. If you want to contribute and grow, there is a clear path. Leadership Foundations is an eight-week experience that develops your skills and connects you with other emerging leaders. For young adults who feel like they are just sitting in a pew somewhere else, that shift from consumer to contributor is often what makes The Life Church feel like home.

A Church That Meets You at Your Pace

Not everyone is ready to join a Life Group or sign up to serve on their first visit. That is fine. Some young adults attend for a few Sundays, watch online for a while, or come to College Night before deciding to go deeper. There is no pressure and no timeline. The Life Church in Memphis is designed to meet you wherever you are and let you move at your own pace. When you are ready, your next step is easy to take.
