Choosing a youth ministry for your teenager is about more than finding a Wednesday night program. You want a ministry that gives your student consistent community, real spiritual growth, and experiences that build their faith over months and years. Axis, the student ministry at The Life Church in Memphis, is designed to do exactly that across every season of the school year and into the summer.
The Weekly Rhythm: Wednesday Night Services
Every Wednesday during the school year, students in grades 6 through 12 gather at all three Memphis-area locations for Axis. The night includes worship led by the Axis worship team, a message from God’s Word as part of a multi-week sermon series, and time for connection. Messages cover subjects that students are actually navigating, like identity, friendship, faith under pressure, prayer, and what it means to follow Jesus at school and at home.
Tribes: Where Real Relationships Form
Immediately following each Wednesday service, students move into Tribes. These are grade and gender specific small groups that meet with the same adult leaders week after week. Tribes are where students move from being anonymous attendees to being genuinely known. Leaders check in on students during the week, pray for them by name, and walk with them through real-life challenges. For most Axis students, their Tribe becomes the place where their faith gets personal.
